Root [CDMA] ics is coming, root now or wait?

SLIDEWAYS

Newbie
i've had my evo 3d for about a week now and i think it's time to root
not for any reason other than the ability to oc the cpu/gpu
and was wondering would it be better to just root it do what i want now before ics is released ota or should i wait for ics and root a week or so later when someone else figures out how to?
normally i'd just root and not think twice but im having problems with my droid x that was rooted on froyo but when the ota gingerbread update was installed it unrooted and now im unable to re-root it
and i don't want that to happen to my evo, i don't wanna root it for a month ics come out and now im not rooted and can't re-root and on top of that like my droid x i have superuser on it and cant delete it no matter what so i'd never be able to send it in for warrenty (not that i'd need to but the evo is only a week old if something pops up i'd need to be able to have it taken care of...)

I would root your phone now. No telling if HTC/Spring will come up with a new boot loader as a part of the update and we JUST figured out how to get out of HBOOT 1.50 without having to use HTCDEV.

+1

Once rooted, you'll be able to flash the new ICS update regardless, and keep your root. Most times the stock rooted ROM is out before the OTA update is available. You never know what they'll include in the next OTA, best to get it in now. :)
