this is not so much a guide, but rather a collection of info for the most current and up to date methods of rooting and obtaining s-off. i hope to emliminate some confusion with this thread.
any questions, comments or concerns feel free to start a thread here in the ATR section, and we will be happy to help you.
first and foremost,if you happen to aquire an evo 3d thats still on hboot 1.30.0000 or 1.40.0000 because its been powered off or used in a cave for the last year, stop and rejoice. download and run Revolutionary immediately. the revolutionary tool is extremely easy, does not require any pre-rooting or prep, just read their FAQ,download and run it. it will give you permanent nand-unlock(radio s-off) leaving you free to accept OTAs or run an ruu afterward, and easily be able to install recovery and root at any time.
if you find your evo 3d to be on hboot 1.50 or 1.58,s off is still possible. just gonna be a lil more work.
the method:
1)unlock,install recovery and superuser by using htcdev

2)run juopunuts bears radio s-off tool

my best advice for s-off is do NOT use your good sd card, theres a chance it could be unrecoverably wiped, and a chance that it could be unrecoverably damaged beyond even using. i always use a small spare 2gb thats no biggie to lose in the process.
the unlimited team is very adiment about following their directions exactly,so make sure youve paid close attention and dont vary- if you need help from their IRC youll not be treated nicely if youve not followed exactly. they also prefer that we not give to much information,as far as "how to"s and guides on forums,as that info can become out of date as they update their tools.
in addition to the main directions, and evo 3d specifics, make sure youve looked at the troubleshooting steps(and have them open during the process in case you need them) wich are found here: Unlimited.IO
please read the following posts for some warnings, disclaimers, and additional info.
remember, any questions, start a thread and ask... we are here to help! :smokingsomb:
