Root [CDMA] md5 file not found

ElTurt

Lurker
I was trying to install a ROM, and I noticed that it said the md5 file was not found. Is this needed for the ROM to work? It seemed to install, but would not boot post the HTC screen. I am on the sprint network if that matters.

The MD5 file is not needed. It is a tool/file that allows the recovery to compare the MD5 checksum it calculates the ROM to be with the file that is included to see if the ROM survived the download process.

Less confusing definition: The MD5 file helps determine if the download got corrupted.

But your problem may or may not be due to a corrupted download. Did you wipe cache, dalvik cache, and data before flashing? Are you on HBOOT 1.5 and used fastboot to flash or 4EXT recovery?

I wiped all those and am using fast boot. I followed the guide on here to root it, and that rom works fine.

Which ROM are you trying to flash? Also, can you tell me what your radio/baseband is? It'll either end in 0808 or 1216.

Go to settings/About Phone/software info/More/check what the Baseband version is

That is also an older version Rom, I would try a more current Rom release, IMO ;)

Viper and how would I find out what radio it is?

Viper and how would I find out what radio it is?

The ICS version or Gingerbread? Try Gingerbread if you're on ICS.

You can also find out the radio from your bootloader. Power down fully (pull battery if need be) then hold Vol down + Power. It'll be the "Radio" line.
