Root [CDMA] No OTA update for previously rooted phones?

About a month ago I decided I would like to try ICS a little early and spent a day trying to get MeanROM up and running on my phone. I used the tutorial here on the forums for newbies, using the SDK tools and TWRP. Being new it took me a lot of time and at the end I ended up with a boot loop and decided I didn't want to deal with the issue and reinstalled the stock Sprint build. Now that the OTA update to ICS has become available I've found that my phone will not install the update. My phone downloads the update, restarts like its going to install the new software the reboots to the old 2.3.4 android software. My HTC bootloader screen shows ***Relocked*** Sprintshooter XC, S-ON, which as far as I can tell is what it should be for having run the RUU from windows to restore back to 100% stock.

Mostly that's just background to explain why I'm asking, even if I have "unrooted" my phone will I still not be able to get OTA updates?

Alright, so if I go into the recovery and it just gives me a red triangle with an exclimation mark I'm going to assume the recovery isnt stock, or has an issue. How can I return my recovery to stock? Do I need to delete the TWRP recovery image, or possibly flash the stock over the TWRP?

I have also noticed that in the bootloader, if I got into fastboot, then select boot loader I get a quick list of PG86 files that is says are either missing or wrong. Maybe this is related somehow?

That is the stock recovery.

Everything you have described is NORMAL. That is your bootloader checking for user updates

Well shoot, I have to go to work but when I get back ill attempt to do an OTA update again just to make sure its still not working then repost here with results.
On the stock recovery, once its on the screen with the red triangle and !, how long does it normally sit there?

It will sit there till you manually pull the battery or reboot it. There should be a button combo. I don't have your device so I don't know the specifics

Well, it seems I must have got something right with running the RUU program as I was finally able to get the update to load last night. Thanks for your information, at least I was able to learn something from this whole debacle.
