Root [CDMA] Official ICS Release Question??

Now I have a question and this may not be what you guys do here on the HTC phones, but when I had a LG Ally we received the 2.2 update and the dev's wanted us to download it but not install it. Then upload it to a file sharing site and share it so they can gain root access asap.

Now what are the methods of official releases with this specific brand of phones? And with the official release do u believe it will contain a new hboot?

Usually a leak is obtained and uploaded to the dev community, or someone who is only rooted to debloat will get an update message, download the update, and upload it without installing it, like you experienced with LG.
