Root [CDMA] Question about HBoot versions

So I'm a little confused regarding hboot versions and what not. Right now, my 3VO is unlocked, rooted, and s-off using the JuopunutBear method. I've seen different hboot versions mentioned, from 1.4 to 1.58. My hboot version is 1.50.5050. I'm running MeanROM ICS v2.4, and I know that v2.6 is out and want to upgrade. I noticed that upgrading to the latest version has certain requirements, one of them as I understand being that I need to be on hboot 1.58. Is this correct? Should I upgrade to a higher hboot version no matter what?

I thought I was beginning to gain a better understanding of everything root, but it seems I still have a lot to learn.

Please help!

The version on the HBoot 1.58 is still out, so I would not do anything just yet until the Devs have more info. Usually the Devs would have an update that your could flash in fastboot and be on the latest HBoot, not the case just yet, so I would wait.
