Root [CDMA] quick Root question

Android Enthusiast
Would rooting my Evo 3D allow me to delete the preinstalled HTC apps, then return (unroot?) to HTC Sense?

I'm happy with Sense, but I would like to remove the apps they put on the device. I know ICS will allow me to disable, but I'd like to kick them out for good!

Thanks

Depend on what you want to remove, some you can and others you can't without improper stability. There are a few Roms out there that have many of the apps already removed and still have sense.

Rooting doesn't remove sense, only flashing AOSP roms will do that. You can root and remove anything you want, but as the guy above me said, be very careful what you're removing

I'm pretty positive there is a flashable zip that will remove sense.

It'll remove the Sense launcher and the widgets that only work with Sense, but the Sense framework will remain, so it's not a 'true' removal. Only AOSP ROMs will be completely free of Sense.

However, considering the sad state of AOSP ROMs for the Evo 3D, keeping the Sense framework and just having 3rd party launchers / lockscreens (or the standard Android ones) is probably the best alternative.

thanks, it sounds like I'm better off leaving the phone as is and simply hiding the apps when ICS comes along.
