Root [CDMA] Rooted EVO 3D not installing sprint update

For some reason when I tell Sprint to install Software update 2.95.651.5 it shuts down the phone and reboots to the black screen with the install zip selection.

I am new to the concept of rooting, and through trial and error and your site, I have spent over 10 hours over the last 2 days to get it rooted! Did I do something wrong?

The custom recovery on your phone is not capable of installing the ota. Do not keep trying to install it- results could be anything from a harmless,failed attempt to to an unrecoverable brick

Your best bet to update is keep an eye out on xda for a refovery-flashable Rom with the updates cooked in
