Root [CDMA] [Rooted] gmail won't update the read email

When I read an email on my phone, it won't update the server that the emails are read. Therefore when there's a new email, the unread counts will increase but on my phone the read emails are still read. Once I get on my computer, the read will be still unread. It's like I never read the email at all. Does anyone have any solution to it?

hi,

are you rooted?

are you in the US or UK?

has this always happened since you had the device?

have you removed the battery for 2 minutes and then reinstall?

did you do a software reset form the shutdown screen?

have you cleared cache and enabled background data?

read these threads for other possible help:

1. Phone is rooted

2. In the US

3. Never happened to me before even after root.

4. Pulled the battery for 5 min

5. Did the reset

6. Cleared the cache and the background has been enabled since i got the phone

7. Went through the threads but didn't find any solution to my problem

Someone has any idea about the solution?

if you are rooted, let me ask this...

has this happened PRIOR to your rooting or did this occur AFTER you rooted?

what ROM are you using because this also matters and perhaps those who may be using your same ROM can further assist.

are you against doing a factory reset?

let's take this to the root forum since you are indeed rooted. Post up the ROMs name and I can update the title.

menu settings apps manage apps all apps gmail clear data. this happesn to me every now and then when i read or delete an email that either has a copy or reply in it, so i just clear data and all is good

This happens after I am rooted. However, it was working fine after I am rooted for a while. So I am not sure if it's the root that caused this problem. The rom is Viper Stable. I'll do a nandroid backup and do a factory reset and report back.

wake69: I did clear the data. Sadly, it didn't work for me.
