Root [CDMA/SHOOTER][ICS/AOSP][ROM] Unofficial MIUI v4 Beta

does your kernel work with this on the 1.58 hboot

I had someone test my kernel on 1.58 and cm9 and it didn't boot. So Im going to say no. I am still working on finding the diff between the kernels and figuring out a universal kernel

On xda there's a miui v4 port for the evo 3d that has EVERYTHING working sans 4g (and even that is said to be around the corner). It seems to be an aosp/sense hybrid of sorts, but without the appearance of sense. Feature-wise, how does this build compare?

Its based on sense so it has most sense bloat. I dunno how an official miui released can be sense based. I don't like that so I did this port. No sense in it

In my notification bar it says roaming indicator on.. anyway to turn that off?

Edit.. figured it out. Custom carrier label

Couple of problems here.. get force closes installing apps.. and also no root access :(

I'm a bit confused. This should work with the stock HTC Evo V hboot 1.57 right?

I did a data wipe/factory reset and wiped cache and whatnot, but I can't get past the brown MIUI boot screen.

For anyone who wants root access for this rom just find a superuser flashable zip.. install through recovery and your good..

the funny thing was i was thinking earlier today before this was released, what if the evo v had miui my life would be complete :D thanks jmz you really outdid yourself this time!

You have to enable su in the settings. No need to flash su. It should be in the tools folder in the first screen

The only miui I could find were all sense based.

For installing apps FC that was prolly a goof on my part for permissions. You should be able to use fix permissions in recovery.

Permission manager is not allowing me to enable root.. that's why I installed superuser.. once I did that I got no more force closes

i tried out this rom on dual boot nice rom but a few issues, i am not sure if these problems are because im on dual boot or from the rom itself, but i noticed my softkeys would vibrate if i pressed them when the screen is off, also my search light stayed on, i could not get data working, and no mms, but its still a great rom :D.

Data is because of boot manager. AFAIK its an ongoing problem with aosp

Seems like I'm the only one with this issue, so I must be missing something really obvious. Anyone know what I'm missing? I'm doing a full wipe of everything but it still won't boot past the brown MIUI screen.

I'm S-ON on the stock HBoot. Using 4EXT Recovery with SmartFlash on.

Its using a kernel that is only compatible with the downgraded hboot. What I would like you to try is flash my custom kernel. I am pretty sure it will boot. Shooter select kernel then download and flash after flashing rom. Let me know if it works for you
