Root [CDMA] Stuck in boot loop Help!!!

I am very new to the whole rooting and roms for android phones. I dont know much terminology such as kernels..etc. so you would have to explain things very carefully for me haha.

Recently I rooted my evo 3d phone. I wanted to change my phone's appearance to ics so i mounted my phone and downloaded it from zedomax's website

i followed zedomax's tutorials on how to install roms, but some how it didn't work because i keep getting the boot loop

I am using Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4

I tried the volume + power button technique
-recovery>wipe data/factory reset, cache
-factory reset>etc

Im lost at this point and i have been searching for answers for about 9 hours.
This will teach me not to mess with my phone without the proper knowledge.

Thank you

Welcome to the forums!! :)

Did you do a nandroid backup before you flashed the rom?

If you did a nandroid, go into your backup menu and restore your nandroid.

If you didn't do one, now you understand the importance of backing up prior to flashing anything. ;)

No worries, we'll get you fixed up. :)

If you didn't do a nandroid, you need to wipe everything in recovery again, and flash a new rom.
Go here: http://dev-host.org/cs4

Download that rom, it's the latest stock rom. In recovery go to usb toggle and connect to your PC, move the rom over to your SD card. Unmount your USB toggle. Go to your wipe menu, wipe everything. Then select flash zip. find the stock rom you just placed on your SD card and select. It should boot right up.:)

Post back and let us know how it goes.

No problem, glad to help. :)

Once you have the phone booted up and it's working properly, boot into recovery and make a nandroid backup. Backup and restore / backup. Be sure to include the WiMax option for your first backup. It'll take a while , be patient. ;)

Then once it's done boot back up, and mount your phone as a disk drive and copy the nandroid to a safe place on your computer. The nandroid can be found in the Clockwork / backup folder.

If you have any questions, just let us know!! :)

I have no idea where you got your ICS ROM from, but there are a number of ROMs that should be pretty easy to install. Most recently is this one:

[ROM]IDK Wht to call it but its a cm9 kang lol - xda-developers

That ROM is developed (although it's still a beta, not fully functional) by a guy who seems to like to make ICS ROMs once a month with little to no real differences between them :p

Or you can grab the unofficial CM9 that is being developed by someone who is actually on the CM team:
