I am using wifi tether for my laptop to use the internet (4G). However, I found an interesting part that the wifi tether on my phone says ~3mbps but on my laptop, the speed of the thing I am downloading is only ~700KB/s. I don't really have other stuff on my laptop that is using the internet since once the download is finished, the data speed on my phone drops to almost 0.
I was wondering why there's a different data speed between two programs?
If wifi tether is telling the truth then I should have no problem browsing the internet like a breeze. However, sometimes it will make you wonder if the data speed shows on the phone is real.
I tested the internet speed on my laptop, it can only peak at around 2Mbps. Therefore, I don't understand where the extra data speed on my phone went. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?
