Cell Standby Time

Hey everybody.

Got the phone yesterday and used it till it drained to 5%. Put it on the charger before bed.

Unplugged this morning with 100%. Within 5 min it was at 98%.

I'm seeing a cell standby time of 24%. I see most people have between 7 and 15%.

Is there a way to fix this? I know nothing about rooting or anything like that. Are there any special ways to charge or are there some things I should tweak to get cell standby time down?

First off it will be high depending on what you did within those first 5 minutes. To get an accurate reading on your battery please use it more, using it will give us a more accurate reading to go by. If your battery drains to 5% and Cell Standby is still at 24% then yes come to us and we can try and look for a solution, but right now using 2% of your battery isn't accurate enough to definitely tell you there is something wrong.

Within the first 5 minutes I did nothing. It was just laying on the counter.

The only reason I decided to post was because compared to all the people around me the cell standby time is rather high.

Its proportionate. Everything must add up to 100%. If you had drained battery using your screen, the cell standby would go down. If you're never using your phone, Cell standby could be 60-70%. There is nothing to worry about here.

I may have missed something prior to upgrading to JB on my S3 (VZ)...but after the upgrade, I've noticed that the cell standby issue I had prior to JB is now BUH-BYE - gone!!! Thank you & Merry Xmas to Sammy and VZ!! :D

Got better battery life too...may be psychological...
