Help Cell Standby

Can someone tell me how to stop cell standby it is taking like 30% of my battery just look at my battery usage.

The only way to cut down call standby is to put the phone in airplane more. It is use so much cause your phone wants to keep the strongest signal. For when you receive a call or text.


Also moved due to not being root related

I have the same problem and sprints network do sent help it I'm sure. I had the LG marquee that did the same thing it would get really hot accessing data especially in a place with bad signal. The galaxy so I had did not have that problem but the power button broke and now I'm back to my warp. The thing is the warp has a qualcomm msm8655baseband and the LG has a to map I believe and I don't no what the same has so I don't no why they consume so.much power but it does seem like the warp will try to hold on to data with a worse signal than the same so that might be just the radio in the warp and marquee trying harder.
