My son is being interviewed today for MicroVast, and of course, I wanted to know what they do.

wow! if Samsung had been using this battery technology, the S7 would be the King of the Planet today.

The industry in general believes that lithium-ion battery has certain risks of random short-circuiting and thermal runaway during its production and use, which can cause accidents. Thanks to tremendous effort over eight years by our research team, Microvast has developed an electrolyte that is non-flammable and can be fully charged within 10-15 minutes, with a long cycle life of over 10,000 times.


you just gotta read the whole page, our Li-Ion batteries are about to go thru a terrific advance, and look at 10,000 Recharges and in 15 minutes or Less ????
 
I've seen other non-flammable batteries said to be into production soon.

I wouldn't expect them too fast unless the maker has its own factory startup.
Other factories will have to retool and resupply. That takes time depending on how motivated they are to sell.
 
oh, it won't be tomorrow, and maybe not next year.

takes time to get it all into the production run.
and there is the matter of patents on the technology, and big guys like Samsung being willing to pay for a license to use the technology.
 
Although they say they're primarily for automotive applications, one would hope they could scale the production methods down to cell batteries. Looks like a fantastic concept!
