Unfortunately they are not the only ones Mortgage Companies do it as well do other companies. Bank America requires anyone in the US to give a SSN number over the phone if you are calling about your account however all you have to do to bypass this is select 2 and speak to them in spanish. NO SSN required

Honestly this shouldn't be groundbreaking news to anyone.

They give it to police with warrants and without identifying information to 3rd parties for advertising...
I don't really have a problem with that.

And the contract you signed (directing you to the privacy policy) says your OK with that

there should be a law prohibiting cell phone companies from withholding my location data from me

I do not live in the U.S. Cell phone companies can not do that in my country
