Cellphone Repair Technician - Worthwhile field to get into?

There's this 5 day cell repair tech course I'm thinking about taking, it's hands on, you work with different tools, and they teach you how to repair lots of different parts of the phone including the electrical stuff.

Do any of you do this for extra cash, working for yourself... finding broken phones, repairing and reselling them? I live in a big city, would there be a lot of competition? I just want to make a few extra bucks on the side. Is this a worthwhile opportunity?

Depends on where you are I think, what country, local economy etc.

I'm in a small city in China, and just about every street has at least one place offering phone repairs. AFAICT non of them are particularly rich, and most of the repairs are not particularly technical, beyond replacing busted screens and iPhone batteries.
