Cellphones blocked in SF to hinder transit protest

i was watching hbo go trying to catch up on my true blood when i hopped on bart in oakland to san fran and it cut off right when sookie was getting it on with eric!!! f my life!!!

Not obeying police commands IS illegal though. There are laws on the books that say you can't do it. There's no question about whether it's illegal or not to not obey police commands.

The problem with saying this is that a police officer can tell you something ridiculous which may even violate your rights. Police should not have some sort of zero boundary where they can tell you to do anything they feel like and if you don't listen you are breaking the law. This is simply ludicrous!

they can't. you do not have to obey a police officer's illegal/unlawful command.

this is where understanding the law, and your rights, come into play. it is up to you to be aware of this.

arrest: seize, capture

Happens a lot, being arrested for no chargeable offense.

Just because one is arrested doesn't mean one is guilty of an offense.

A police officer must abide by the law, if a police officer arrest someone outside of the law, then the arrest is unlawful.

The specific case is that an officer gave a unlawful order, i.e. outside his authority to give to an individual filming said officer.

The police have admitted the order was outside the authority of the officer to give and the subsequent arrest for disobeying said order was unlawful, which is why the police, not the courts, have dropped the charges against the individual who was arrested for disobeying the order of the police.

I don't know how to make it clearer, if still not clear suggest you ask your local law enforcement to explain.

Suggest you use the terms lawfully arrest versus unlawful arrest, lawfully is often omitted, but implied. Legal documents do not omit using lawfully.

Again, you can't be arrested without a chargeable offense. This lady was arrested for failing to comply with an officer's commands. That is an offense that they can charge her with.

A police officer in uniform walks into a bank and orders the teller to give him money, bank teller refuses, officer arrests bank teller for failing to comply with an officer's commands.

Bank teller and officer arrive at station to book teller. Captain reads charging documents then explains to officer that bank teller did not commit an offense since said officer went beyond his authority to issue said command.

Captain apologizes to teller and tells her charges are dropped and tells officer not to do again.

A while back in L.A. cops had to invade a gun store in order to forcefully procure weapons to fight back some guys with M-16s, etc who'd robbed a bank.

I still obey all cops. Then, later if I feel I was wronged, maybe I'll look into it or start a protest, etc. But at the point of the contact with the cop, yes, obey.

The way the system works is the police can walk up to you and slap the cuffs on you. At that point if you resist them, you are committing a crime. You are saying that they are arresting people for non-chargeable offenses. That is not true at all.

OK, let's get really ridiculous, police officer tells a ten year old to have sex with him, she refuses said order, officer slaps the cuffs on her, girl does not resist. You see what is going on and rush with your garden shears to defend the girl, officer shoots and kills you after giving you an order not to interfere.

Fact: the kid refused to obey a police officer, you interfered with a police officer while in possession of a weapon.

Had you or the kid committed a crime or a chargeable offense ?

When dealing with cops it's important to know your rights. If you legally resist their instructions and if you are arrested, then the proper, law approved response in a law suite.

The problem is, the general public doesn't know their rights. And so police are able to coerce cooperation with clever wording. They are taught this behavior in the academy. Makes you feel good about our nation doesn't it?

Don't Talk to Cops, Part 1 - YouTube

There's 2 vids. The 1st is scary.

From post 18, 2nd para: "I use to give cops the benefit of a doubt, but honestly, I completely don't trust them now. Mostly because of this video - there are just too many uncertainties."
