Help Cerberus Anti-Theft flagged in Google Play ...

I received a notification from the Google Play Store several minutes ago stating some problem with the Cerberus Anti-Theft app, and removal was offered. Is this a legitimate notification or has the app been cracked somehow?

I could login to my Cerberus account at https://www.cerberusapp.com/dashboard via the web, but it was unable to communicate with the Nexus 6P device for the first time ever.

Your thoughts, please? Thank you.

I just checked Play, nothing there and I was able to log on and track 2 phones. I do think I'm on grandfathered plan though, just the basic tracking and that stuff. It changed a while ago but I don't really know what changed. Anyway, mine seems OK.

Just came to post about this.

I have a red alert from Google Play Store that says "Uninstall harmful app. 'Cerberus' may be harmful."

In system settings, in Cerberus, I followed its link to its Play page--which yielded an error message that it can't be found.

Edit: okay, it looks like there's a solution; it's on the page @ocnbrze linked to:
- uninstall Cerberus v3.6
- reboot
- go to this Cerberus page
- download and install v3.6.3

I'm off to give it a whirl...

...and I'm back from whirling! It worked. :)

My sister actually got this. I'm not sure about uninstalling and updating, as I mentioned I'm grandfathered in to the 'old' way. I only paid once a long while ago and have no subscription/recurring charges. Oh dear. I guess if it stops working I'll just have to use the Googly to find my phones (or, *gasp* break down and pay more).

Yes look for another program they are thief's, I had pay one time (livetime) for this program in 2014 that was the rule pay one time and later 2017 my account login everything was gone because they change the rules. Now you must pay each month. I have mail them several time but no answer at all.
I am happy that google throw them out.
