Certain apps can't detect network connection

I have a couple of apps that suddenly can't find an internet connection even though the connection is there and all other apps to work ok. The specific apps are AARP app and CVS mobile app. Fails with either wifi or mobile data. Both just tell me limited or no network connectivity. I have read that others have had the same issue with the AARP app but not seen anything about what the problem was
