Help change 8gb to 32gb?

I'm not sure if what info/apps I had on my 8gb SD card has in it..as I just got my phone Sunday. So far I have about 10 apps downloaded and took 5 pics. Are those on the internal memory or on the card? Can I safely change the cards before I do more things on my phone?

Where do I find info of what's on my SD card before I swap cards?

This is what I would do,Is plug phone into pc and copy all the files on the sd card to your pc.Then turn phone off and remove old sd card and put new one in and turn phone back on and copy files you save back to new sd card.
