change android network name

Hi there,
I have the HTC Sensation and every time I log into my router I see Android and a bunch of numbers after it. We all have androids in this house and I always like to keep a watch on who is connecting to my network. Is there a way I can change the network name of the Android so when I log into my router it could say something like "Jons Android". I figure there should be something in the Android Settings for that.
Thanks for your help in advance
Thanks for the help mrsbelpit but that did not help. I have that option turned off right now so I dont think that is the issue. By the way maybe this will help. I am using Android version 2.3.4. (I believe that is gingerbread)

Tap menu, Settings, Wireless & Networks, tap More. Tap Tethering & portable hotspot. Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings. You can change the name there. I think the default name is android+last 4 digits of your phone number.
