Change default camera app on Galaxy S5?

Lurker
I downloaded the Google camera app and want to make that the app that I access from the lock screen. Is there a way to make it the default?

Just move the app icons around to where you want them.

anything you don't want on the command bar? just long press and move it off to a screen, replace it with what you want.

If any app invokes a camera to use and the window pops up to use a different one, just select the one you want and then press 'Always'.

I have the FV-5 camera as my default.

Thanks for your reply! I will definitely do that. Is there a way to change the app I open through the camera shortcut on the lock screen?

On the Lockscreen itself?

Yes, but I forgot where to find it.

Okay, here is my guess.

On the Lockscreen options page, uncheck the box for Camera on Lockscreen.
Go to the Default apps page and clear the Default Camera.

Now, do something to make the "desired camera" your default camera.
say like adding a photo to a phone Contact List, there you have to choose which camera you want, select one, and then select ALWAYS

Once you have selected a new default camera to use, then you can return to the Lockscreen "display on lockscreen" and recheck that box.
the new "default camera" should be the one that works for you.

Found something interesting in researching the previous post.

See the attached screenshot.

There apparently are two different "types of default cameras" selections.

I have the FV-5 set up for my default when taking Contact list photos

Just now, for the first time, I thought I would try out the Lockscreen shortcut.
All I got was a circle and no camera.... hmmmmm,

so, I unlocked the screen and then it wanted to know which camera to choose? I have 3 camera apps, but it will only allow me to select from 2. I wanted FV-5 but that did not show up, so I chose Google's new camera as the new default.

interesting....

Hm thats interesting. What you mentioned before worked perfectly for me! I made the Google camera the default when I was about to take the contact photo. It did let me choose between FV-5 because I have that installed as well, but I chose Google since thats the one I wanted. When I went to the lock screen and did the camera shortcut, the Google camera came up. I tried FV-5 after that just to see if it would work for me, and when I changed FV-5 to the default for the contact picture camera and then went to the lock screen, it asked me to choose a new default and FV-5 was one of the options. I am not sure if that helps your situation, but I never went to the lock screen and turned the camera shortcut off. Thanks again for your help though!
