Help Change format of video recorder?

Is it possible to change the format of the hd video recording to mp4 rather than 3gp? I usually play most of may HD stuff on my ps3 or bluray player, as my pc is not HD-compatible, therefore making videos jumpy. However the ps3 and blu ray player do not play 3gp files. Is there an alternative video recording app or a way of changing the recording format? (not converting them later) cheers
