The image you see, is a part of the MP3 ID tag. If there is no Artwork or lyrics, the player uses default one.

First I google image search for artist and song cover art, exp:
justin bieber baby cover art (kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I donwload 500x500 pixels for good quality, which I then scale in Photoshop to about half the site. Of course you can download smaller one directly.

Then I open iTunes, drag drop the song or album, select the song or group of songs, and hit CTRL + I
Then simply drag drop the JPG to Artwork box on the right hand side, under the INFO tab or ARTWORK tab.

Then close it and the Mp3 has its cover, which will now show when you play it.

I keep them small in size because each image will add to Mp3 size, so with large collection of music, you can save some space, but not too small, so the display on the phone is crispy clear, rather than fuzzy.

That's literally the only reason why I still have itunes :)

The only image you can change in the Samsung Player is for the PlayList.
Just hold it down till menu pop up, edit image.....

By the way, you can do the same with lyrics, add text via iTune CTRL I for selected song. Then it will appear on top of the song as it plays. There is a setting option that turns the feature on and off.
