Change power button behavior, due to touchy power button

We have a Galaxy S2 where even a slight breeze against the power button will make it act like someone pushed it down, which is causing multiple restarts of the phone accidentally and killing the battery.

Is there a way to change the behavior of the power button, or switch it to a different key. I think what is happening is the power button is barely getting pressed in the person's pocket or case, then their screen rubs the inside of their pocket and it either restarts or shut down without them knowing, unless they hear it starting back up.

I believe you can change the shut down, but not startup.. I.e. useless because the power button would still be the power button..

I'm not even sure if you can stop the forced reboots tbh, that's a "safety" thing that I think is hard coded so that even if the whole OS freezes, you can hold in Power to force a reboot. I could be wrong but I'd look into fixing/replacing the button
