change start up

HI - have a samsung Galaxy tab and use it - among many things - as my clock. Switch it on a 2am and.... this small, white clock on a (almost) white background. Unlock and I can have any number of big clocks but...

Is there a way to modify the start up?
ps - I switched from iPad cos I got fed up with jailbreak, hack, fuss... Hopefully this can be done without rooting.

Welcome to the forums!!!

I believe you can use a lockscreen app like widget locker to change your lockscreen. This may give you the result you're looking for.
