Help Change the size of recent app icons in notification pull-down bar

Hi everyone,

The title pretty much says it all, I'd like to reduce the size of the icons (or the bar) that shows you recent apps in the notification bar when you pull it down. The bar is larger than other notifications, and is just larger than is necessary, and if there's several notifications on there, they just feel like they're clogging up the screen.

Is there any way this can be done without rooting the device as I'm not planning on doing that?

As you can see, the notification toggle app bar is much smaller and nicer looking, and the generic notifications are smaller

Hi Tattycakes. The generic answer would be to check your phone's settings, but if you tell us which phone (manufacturer and model), and which version of Android you're using, we can put this in that device's specific forum. There should be lots of help there. :)

PS I know that your phone info displays as "Device(s): HTC Sensation XE Android 4.0.3," but people do change devices/OS versions without necessarily updating their forum info!

Hi MoodyBlues! Thanks for your response

My handset is still the Sensation XE on 4.0.3, and I've not found any way to change the size of those icons (you can see MX Player, Play Store, Gallery, Calculator & Reddit in the screenshot), either from the default phone settings or from my launcher (Nova Launcher Prime 2.1.1).

I can change "icon size" in Nova but that only changes the desktop icons, not the recent apps in the notification bar. Is there a way to turn off the recent apps altogether, perhaps, as they can be accessed by long holding the home button anyway.
