Changed password

I have a Motorola Milestone X. Recently I had to change my gmail password because of someone hacked into my account. I followed the steps to change my password with the verification codes sent to me. Now when I use my cell and what to get into the play store app I get a pop up for google sign-in because either I entered the wrong password or I changed my account. It shows my email and when I enter my password it doesn't except it. It returns back to enter my password again. What do I do to correct this. Thanks

In the phone, delete the gmail account. Add a new account and add the account with the new password.
