Changes after NOUGAT Update

[Robert Samuel]

Spoken with Samsung and Carrier, Verizon...neither could assist. Following the Nougat Update my S6 phone had a New Icon on the Home Page.....entitled NEWS. It is a Red icon with a Newspaper pic in it. When I view my Appls List and System Lists, this Icon nor a name NEWS appears in wither Lists. Looking at my Google appl Folder...this name or Pic does not exists. This Icon was not on my Desktop prior to the Nougat Update and I am certain as after the Nougat this Icon was positioned way on the top of my Home page...nothing has ever been there prior. I also now see a blurbs...small round Icon that occasionally displays on the side of my Home page, if I tap it it opens this same NEWS APP. Obviously what this is, when a News release takes place this Blurb displays. When I open NEWS, there are no menu items that you can click on to see Settings....if that were so I might be able to turn off this App. If it was in my Appl lists or System Appl list I could uninstall it.....its likeit has me as its Hostage.

I have no appl entiled NEWS. I checked the Googlw Playstore for an APPL entitled NEWS....nothing installed on my Phone and nothing at the Playstore with this Apps Icon look.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

When you go to settings > Apps, there is a menu button in the top right section. Under the menu once in it you can select show system apps. Does it show there?

No; that is waht is so puzzling ....I don't see anything entitled NEWS, nor do I see any matching Icon....in Appl List or System Lists. Even I find it hard to believe that can be so. What I do know is 1) this only appeared following the Install/Upgrade of Nougat because where the Icon appeared on my Desktop was a weird spot and 2) normally all Icons you have on your Home page are still duplicated in ALL APPLS....and this NEWS Icon is not in ALL APPS. (and I looked at all Icons that had sub apps in them.
