Help Changing android handset

I love my milestone, the android system is great and all... but whenever I talk on the phone, I often here like a high pitched sound coming from the earpiece, I thought I could tough it out but its starting to drive me really crazy
Anyways I spoke to Telus and they said in the first 30 days they'll switch it for a brand new one in store, but if I switch android handset (still keeping a milestone), does everything get carried over automatically?
The essentials I would need are contacts, calendar, and apps...

When you sign on to the new handset with your googlle credentials the phone will synchronize and your PIM data will be there.

All your applications in the Downloads section of the Market should be there ready to be installed. For apps you can also use Listables to make a list of installed apps and then reinstall them easily. Another option is to use AppBrain sync.
