Changing battery Xperia play

Anyone else having an issue with battery indicator when they change batteries?? I bought a few extra batteries and when I change to a fully charged battery the indicator stays at the previous reading at like 20%
Then over time the battery indicator slow increases to about 85-90% which is correct by the time it gets there.
Ive tried using one of the batteries I bought until its almost dead then changing to the original battery but same thing happens, its not really a big deal just curious if anyone else having same issue.

Thanks

Are those batteries the same amps? It may be that they are just cheap Honkong knockoffs or something.

They are from HonKong they have the same mAh 1500 same 3.6V even the same model number as the original. Im not sure if that would effect how the phone reads how much battery life it has? Besides I did try using one of these Honkong batteries for the day and when it was low I change to my original battery from Sony and it does the same thing??

I did do a restore before I got the batteries on a unrelated issue. I'll be updating to the new new one I think its 2.3.3 July 1st I guess when it comes out in Canada. That might fix the issue.

You have to be very careful. If you use a cheap battery and for some reason it sends out the wrong voltage or whatever you may have shorted it some how.
I'm not an expert on batteries but if your original battery is doing this now you may have messed it up some how. It could have something to do with the charging of those batteries that messed up the phone also.

Ya your right about the cheap batteries I did buy ones that another user from here had bought, but still they were pretty cheap. My phone does charge all the batteries including my original fine to 100%, its just when I switch them. Probably be best to buy extra batteries from Sony.

Thanks for the heads up Ncaissie. http://androidforums.com/members/ncaissie.html

Looks like I figured it out was pretty simple really. I just had to leave the battery out for a few seconds. I was turning the phone off then putting in a fully battery right away for no real reason. So this time I took the dying battery out and left it for about 30 seconds put in charged battery and it was at 100%

Thanks for the input and advice guys :)
