Help Changing default messaging in 2.3

Hiya
Im probably looking straight at it but not seeing it. So can anyone tell me how to make Handcent my default messaging in 2.3?

when you first use it does it not give you the option to set it as the default message app

Well Ric thats what i would of thought. It did when i update from 1.6 to 2.1. However for some reason it didn't with 2.3.. Any other suggestions?

ok, ive just deleted handcent and reinstalled it. i have 2 contacts on my homescreen that its letting me set handcent as the default message for, but anything in my contacts its using the stock message app. i can still use handcent to send texts but not as the default, will have to look into it

is it the stock 2.3 or a custom 2.3 like wolfbreaks that you have

Its one of the custom ones from here... ( 2.3.aro.ftf) You think there might be a glitch???

if you install it it will work anyway, best thing to do is go into the standard messaging app and disable all notifications.
then remove the default messaging shortcut from your launcher (longpress the icon and bin it)
drag the handcent icon onto your launcher and there you go.

i disabled all notifications and deleted it from home screen but still it was the message app that the contacts list used i couldnt uninstall it either.

if its a pre rooted rom then if you have titanium backup you can use that to uninstall or at least freeze them. i froze the stock message app and now handcent shows as the only message app. sorted lol
