changing router settings with droid

madintro

Lurker
I have been having mixed results when changing settings. For example: I have been able to set my routers restrictions to allow a certain mac address to have access- but when I try to redo the restriction it says unable to connect as soon as I hit apply.

Meanwhile I can still access the routers settings.

So long story short: I can click disable restrictions and apply it ut if I click enable and apply it tells me it cant connect.

Oh and I am not trying to block the mac I am working from- it wont even let me enable the restrictions with no macs listed in the restrictions tab.

I get the same results from my android phone and archos101. Also I have tried remotely changing settings too.. i.e. going to 72.240.12.116:8080 rather than 192.168.1.1 and get the same results.

I'm a little confused myself. What exactly is your question?

Mac address filtering is a list of approved mac addresses that are allowed to connect to your network. If you enable Mac address filtering with nothing on the list, then no device will be able to connect.

To find the mac address to your android device go to settings>about phone>status> wifi mac address. Don't confuse this address with an ip address. Mac address are in six group of two heximal digits separate by (usually) a colon
