Changing routing options in Google Maps/Navigation

How can I change my routing option or view different routes while it is in the process of navigating to a location?

To view the alternate routes go back one step - your current route will show blue, the alternate routes will show grey - tap an alternate route to select. Or the current route details are displayed at the bottom of the screen - swipe right or left to display alternate routes. In both cases tap Start bottom right of screen.

To change route options go back two steps, select your desired route option, tap Done, then Start navigation on the next screen.
