Help changing the task bar

has anyone had any luck changing the luck or the icons on the task bar on our phones? i noticed the a friend with an optimus S from sprint had a different bar. i was also wondering how would you go about just changing what you have on the task bar? thanks for any info guys

That's the "launcher" bar. Yeah, you can change those with Launcher Pro. You can go to only two buttons. You can also add more -- so that when you scroll over to another "home page" the launcher on that page has different shortcuts. Each home page can have it's own customized launcher.

However, I'm not doing that. The 4 buttons right now on the launcher are standard for a reason -- because they are the most used.

yea i know that, but for some reason my contacts changed to that @ metro icon and if like to change it back

You can get adw launcher too. I like it better
