Changing to mobile display

Hi just got a Samsung tab 3 7" and quite happy with it. However on looking at some websites they are displayed as desktop format rather than the mobile one which make then difficult to navigate. Any one know how to change the settings so all web pages are displayed in mobile format? Thanks, Paul.

Hi alycidon, and welcome to AF :)

This is controlled by a browser setting, which controls whether the browser identifies itself to the site as a mobile device or a full-sized computer. Technically it's called "user agent", but some browsers give the setting some other name, like "desktop view" or "mobile view". I've never used the Tab 3, so don't know what the setting would look like in the Samsung browser, or even whether it has such a setting - some browsers do not have this option, in which case they usually identify themselves as a mobile device all of the time.

However, that's all the device can do - it's up to the website what it does with this information. So if the site you are viewing doesn't have a mobile view, then you'll get the desktop view regardless.

You could also try another browser, and see whether there is one which suits you better. Plenty of them in the Play Store.

Welcome to Android Forums.

In addition to what was said ... I moved your thread to the forum dedicated to discussing your tablet to get the information from other users.

If you use the default browser (icon looks like a picture of the earth from space), press the settings button and you'll see one of the settings marked "Desktop View". Uncheck the box next to it and you'll get the mobile view option.

Firefox has the same setting. Don't know about others...only use those two.
