Not familiar with Sonys, but a flashing charge light is rarely good. If you've tried different chargers and cables then all I can think of is turn it off, let it cool, then plug it in and leave it and see what happens.
(Cooling was mentioned because most phones won't charge if too hot, as a safety feature.)
