charger polarisation?

Why does the little black charger socket which came with my Note1, not work with my Note 10.1?
I have to use the one which came with the Note 10.1 for it to start charging.
Why do they change things unnecessarily all the time?

Hi, its probally the ampage phone sockets tend to be 1amp and the note 10.1 uses 2amp like most tablets.
