Charger Question

someone told me all USB wall chargers output 5v, is that correct?

I have a cheapo android phone that goes crazy when you plug it in to charge with the charger that came with it, but works ok-ish when I use an official htc charger but the touch screen is still only 90% functional when charging, I noticed on the battery it says max charging voltage is 4.2 volt.

I think what I need to find is a micro usb wall charger that outputs a max of 4.2 volt, but they seem hard to find. I want to buy a genuine branded one so I know its actually outputting what it says it is.

does anyone know if such a charger exists? or should I be looking for a reliable 5v charger?

What phone do you have? I've had issues with some phones charging using the wrong chargers so you may need to just get an OEM charger.

My Samsung USB wall charger is 5.0V at 1.0A.
I know what you mean on the 4.2V thing.
My experience with R/C car Li-Po batteries was to never charge at more than the cell voltage, which in our case is a 3.7V Single Cell Li-Po that maxes out at 4.2V, so technically 3.7V should be the theoretical max voltage at which to charge at, the 1.0A would be fine as long as the battery is more that 1000mAh.

hey sorry for the long delay, so Mika, are you saying if the battery itself says 4.2v max charging voltage I shoudlnt be using a 5v charger?
