I just got my Samsung Epic 4G touch...(I love it!!)...

My question is this...I had a Samsung Exclaim with the micro USB phone charger. Is that charger going to work? I would think that it would, considering it has the same micro USB tip on it. I just don't want there to be some unforeseen compatibility issue. Also, it would be great to have an extra charger around if it ends up being ok!!!

Thanks!!

It should work fine. Because of the USB standard, all micro USB devices have the same +5 volt output, with the only differences being the output current (amps/A) . The voltage of any replacement charger needs to be at +5V, but the current can go up or down with no serious side effects other than charging time. The charger cube that comes with the E4GT is a 1 amp charger. So if the Exclaim's charger is less than 1 amp, it might just take a little longer to charge the E4GT all the way.

At work, I use a old micro USB charger that I got with a Bluetooth headset I lost a long time ago. It works fine and it is only rated at 0.7 amps. Look carefully at the charger and you can see the output ratings printed on it somewhere. Something like output: +5V, 1A
