Help Charging Battery Issue

I recently upgraded to the Epic 4G. I had the phone for a little over a week. I'm quite satisfied with the performance. I am coming from the EVO which my wife now sports. I've noticed a few things about the battery charging that I found strange besides the very long charging time. I read several threads about battery issues but there were none that described the situation I am seeing.

When the battery is fully charged, I noticed the notification comes on stating the battery is fully charged. I noticed when it does this the LED changes from red to blue. The strange thing is when the notification comes on the battery is actually at 95% charged. I am using a third party app to monitor my battery life. I would unplug the phone and plug it back in. Within a few minutes the battery notification comes back on but the phone is only charged at 96%. I read more threads about clearing the battery cache by turning the phone off, pulling the battery out of the phone while the phone is still on the charger, then reinstall the battery. I've done this and the issue resolves itself. It seems that I have to do this every time for the phone to charge completely to 100%. I notice when I do this method my battery stays at 100% longer and the battery last longer throughout the day. Is there any other methods without doing this every time?

Mines always hovers around 95%-96% and nothing more unless I clear the battery cache. On a side note, after clearing the battery cache, my battery life has been exceptionally good. I got 13+ hours of battery life on a single charge. That's with moderate use of Pandora, browsing the web, playing a few 3D heavy games, and calling/texting. I believe it's a programing issue on Samsung's part. I hope it gets fixed when either 2.2 or 2.3 is released.
