Charging cycles

How often can you charge your phone? What is a charge cycle? Is it ok to charge my phone on the ride to and from work- 20-30 mins each way? Or if I have an oppertunity to charge for say 30 mins at work? From the time I take it off the charger in the morning to the time I get to work, may have only dropped 10%, can I still plug it while at work or should I let it get down more then that/

Also what is consider a charge cycle? If I charge say when my battery is at 75%, and it charges to full would be 25%, could I essentially do that 4 times to equal a 1 charge cycle? Or charge it 50%, then 20% and then 30%, 50 +20+30= 100 (1 charge cycle)?

I am not sure if am explain it right, i think i am.

Charging cycle counts as discharging and recharging battery at full.

You probably read somewhere in the manual that battery will last 1000 cycles or whatever. Do not worry about it. You are not doing 3 cycles a day by just charging it up. Your way of charging the phone is actualy very good for the battery.

ok, to build on this question a bit more... I leave my phone plugged in the wall charger all nite while I am sleeping and unplg it when I get up. By the time I get to work I'm down to around 90% since I stream Slacker the entire ride in. I plug it into my USB on my PC and there it sits for 8 hours on the charger while the display is on, and I do use it a little while it is plugged in, then after work I take it off the charger till it's time to go to bed which is around 6 or 7 hours.. rinse, repeat...

Is that ok? I actually read somewhere that letting it sit on the charger when it is at 100% is actually not good for it... true?
