This issue just started happening a couple hours ago. I've only had the Galaxy S3 for two weeks (Verizon Wireless - service and phone are paid for by my employer). The phone says it is charged at 100% and, every 3 to 20 seconds, it plays the charging notification sound and the display lights up. The notification indicator light is off but occasionally flashes orange for a brief moment (used to stay orange while charging and turn green once it was fully charged). I've tried rebooting the device and nothing changed. The charger is on a surge protector. Battery dropped to 99% and then 98% as I was writing this, which tells me something is possibly busted. The S3 was on the charger all day and I seem to remember the green light earlier - I had no need to use the S3 today, so I left it alone. So it was working fine earlier without issue.
Switching to USB charging via PC appears to work fine until it reaches 100%. The green light never comes on (stays orange when the display is off) and it starts doing the notification every 3 to 20 seconds thing as I mentioned above. It didn't do this before even on PC charging. I'm not sure what is going on. Is there something I can do now or should I just wait until Monday when I can talk to my employer about it?
