Charging note 2 thru pc

Hi, I am unable to charge my NOTE 2 thru my pc, when i connect the phone it only acts like a dock to transfer data. Which is not what i want to do. Is there a CHARGE ONLY option in the phone?

Also, how can i take screen snapshots?

The phone will be charged at max 0.5amp current when connected to your laptop or pc. This is only % 25 of the charge rate when using the supplied charger which is 2amps. It will charge whatever else you are doing, but at 0.5 amps (the standard usb rating) it may discharge even when connected because the phone is using more than it is getting if under heavy use.
