Charging Note 2 (via HDMI)??

I have my computer 12 feet from my desk to keep things ultra clean. My monitor (Flatron M2362D) floats about 6" above my desk and I'd like to keep my dock below it.

Is there any way to connect my dock/charger to an HDMI port or any other port on the monitor to give it the needed power.

I do not want to run a 12' MicroUSB port. I do have an outlet 6' away in case this idea is available.

Thoughts?

Any way I can intercept power from the monitor cable??

Thanks in advance.

Not from HDMI...power can only come from the USB, but you're REALLY better off charging directly from AC. Get creative with some long USB cords and just do good cable management.

careful with long ones on the note 2. I had 2 off ebay and neither were capable of charging its battery via the 2a charger!

Its my understanding the Galaxy Note 2 has different accessory requirements than the Note 1.

These are your Note 2 accessory options:
Accessories - AT&T Cell Phones SGH-I317 | Samsung Cell Phones

To output HDMI on the Note 2 - these are your options.

* Smart Dock
Galaxy Note

* 11 pin MHL HDMI Adapter
HDTV Universal Adapter (11 Pin) )

Observe the Note 2 requires an 11 pin MHL adapter. It will not work with the budget micro USB cable type 5 pin MHL - HDMI adapters.

Therefore a 12 foot micro USB cable between the Note 2 and MHL adapter will not work.

Also I have not seen 3 meter 11 pin MHL extender cables myself.

Also the Note 2 MHL HDMI adapter + Note2 phone will draw a fair amount of current - far more than the typical 500mA supply current of a typical USB port on the TV "Service port".

I suggest you always use the 11 pin MHL-HDMI adapter directly connected to the Phone - but powered the MHL adapter with the 2 AMP AC mains adapter
Travel Charger 2AMP (Detachable W/ USB to Micro USB Cable)

so a 12 foot HDMI cable (between TV and MHL Adapter + a 12 foot "robust" Micro USB cable (from AC Mains adapter to MHL Adapter ) are required.

Avoid the typical cheap small diameter micro USB cables to supply the 2 Amp power. You must use a decent quality cable to pump the power to the Note 2 _ MHL adapter.

or just get the Smart Dock+ 12 foot HDMI cable.
