Help Charging problems.

I am on my 2nd (soon to be 3rd )moto z force.
1st phone.I bought last august. It died April 6.It went dead, tried to charge it, got a new car charger,(Thinking the charger went bad), same thing.
took it to Verizon(my carrier) got it charge wirelessly with a moto mod attached, but not thru the us-c port, plus could not turn it on while charging.
Tues, woke up in am, phone has not charged, won't charge thru us-c port again...plug in the auto mod had recently purchased, and it charges that way, verizon tomorrow it goes bVerizon.....again.....
has anyone else had charging problems with this phone???
I enjoy the phone, but this is getting ridiculous.....

I'm going to take this in a direction you may not have been expecting.

Which car charger are you using? I suspect that the car charger is damaging the USB C port in the phone - perhaps shorting pins in the port.

This was a big story a couple of years ago, when USB C ports started appearing frequently. See http://www.greenbot.com/article/300...-google-engineer-warnswhile-naming-names.html

So, which car charger are you using?

BTW, I should have said that I have followed the Z series on multiple forums like this, and yours is the first post I recall that described charging issues with multiple handsets. I can't frankly remember charging issues at all. Again, which suggests to me that maybe you have a faulty charger or charging cable.

Thanks for the reply.
I am using Verizon's recommended car chargers with the red ends(Turbochargers)...One of them has already been replaced when I 1st thought it was the cable that was the problem.I quickly found it was not.
I have considered your possibility, however the past several weeks with the 2nd phone, I was using the moto car docking mod, during the day, and the car charger at nite while sleeping(I am a Trucker).I read your link it makes sense, batteries B/C after a few weeks the batteries would get extremely hot(to the point where they couldn't be touched(from resistance in the plug???perhaps?)
I will try not to use the plug so much to see if that makes a difference.
perhaps wireless is the answer for these.

That might be it. The Moto Z series does not use the same Qualcomm Turbo Chargers that the Droid Turbo and Droid Turbo 2 used to use. It uses a USB-C fast charging specification.

Just a warning: I don't own one myself, but I recognize Aukey as a reliable brand, and it does mention compatibility with 5V, 3a USB-C charging with a proper USB-C port. This may be worth trying out: https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Charge-Dual-Port-Samsung/dp/B01E764DXM

Motorola and Verizon online do not sell online car chargers for USB-C, but Google does for their Pixel phone, which also uses USB-C rapid charging. Here is a Belkin car charger: https://store.google.com/product/belkin_15w_usb_c_car_charger
