Accessories Charging safe with old power cord?

I LOVE the rapid charging, it's amazing.

That said, I have a ton of the old chargers that I use at work and the one in the car. Is it safe to use the old chargers on the Galaxy 6, will it damage the phone or should I only use the rapid chargers?

All might not work. My official Verizon car charger doesn't work with the S6. Plugged it in and after 20 minutes it was still discharging and no indication that it was charging. The wall charger does work but keep in mind the old ones have no quick charge capabilities.

My dealer advised turning off the charger as soon as fully charged, unlike previous Samsungs, to avoid overheating.

I also heard that. I used to plug my S3 in before going to bed and let it go all night, but now with the rapid charge on the S6, it's super easy to charge it before calling it a night and then unplugging it.

I just use the old cords for a back up to charge int he car or at work. I actually just ordered another rapid charger from Amazon for $16 so I could have rapid charge at work too. I'm a sucker

Sorry, but that makes zero sense. All phones have software to prevent overcharging, ie they stop charging when they hit 100%. Otherwise, the phone I plugged in at night would be hot to the touch by morning. Not even close.

And, the rapid charging will work on any of the AC adapters rated for 1 amp or greater, I believe. I don't take chances, and buy only 2.0 amp chargers, heh (never know when an Apple-friend will need juice)

I leave my S6 plugged in all night on the wall charger the S6 came with. The phone is cool to the touch in the morning.
So I don't believe you have to turn off the charger when fully charged to prevent overheating.
Let's squash this inaccuracy now.
