Charging sound/notification problem

Hi guys!

I'm new here, but i guess it's the best place to solve my problem.

My nexus 5 doesn't make the usual notification sound when plugging the usb charger. It just lights up the screen and it shows that it's charging, but no sound.

All other sounds are perfectly fine, volumes are up to the max. It started doing this since aprox. a week ago all of a sudden.

I'm on stock 4.4.2, no root, vanilla kit kat.

Tried to boot in safe mode and it's the same, no sound when plugging in the usb charger (tried also to hook it up via usb to my pc, but still no sound).

That's strange...mine made a sound similar to the wireless charging sound when I plugged in the usb cable or charger.

By default, stock doesn't have a charging notification sound for a wall charger. Wireless charging it does though.

You could try using an app from the play store like DU battery saver - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dianxinos.dxbs
or something similar to that.

Other than that I'm pretty sure the only way you could enable a wall charging sound is by either rooting it and then using an xposed module, editing the build prop or flashing a custom ROM.
 
I'm dead serious that i had the usb charging notification! It was there when i plugged the phone into my pc via usb cable.
Even when i was plugging it to my pioneer car stereo which has usb charging, the sound was there.
Never rooted my phone, it's stock from day one (bought it in march).

The sound was there since the first charge.

I recently (like 2 weeks ago) restored my phone since i had a conflict with an apk that needed root. That probably removed the sound.
The phone was brand new, so no "leftovers" from a previous owner.

I used Art runtime and since the restore, i'm back on Dalvik. But that's about it regarding dev customizations if any.
