Help Charging Times

I had this problem on one occasion
I was running Day Dream>Google Albums. It was a huge Batt drain. I could leave my Tab plugged in all day and it would never charge.
of course you also have the normal things that drain
>Screen brightness settings
>Apps running in background
>Damaged USB 3
#Make sure no buid up in the port...things like this
